What is tesamorelin peptide?
Tesamorelin peptide is a synthetic 44-amino-acid GHRH analogue, supplied by HEEZ Research as a lyophilized powder for in vitro laboratory use. Its sequence is the full-length GHRH(1-44) amide with a trans-3-hexenoyl group on the N-terminal tyrosine — that single acylation distinguishes it from native GHRH(1-44) and from the truncated GHRH(1-29) fragments. Because the whole 44-residue sequence is retained, tesamorelin is the closest full-length reference standard in the GHRH-analogue group.
How does tesamorelin work?
In vitro, tesamorelin is characterized as an agonist at the GHRH receptor family, with the N-terminal acyl group conferring resistance to DPP-4 cleavage in assay media. Receptor activity is measured in GHRH-receptor-expressing cell lines.
