How does IGF-1 LR3 work?
In vitro, the Arg3 substitution reduces binding to the IGF-binding proteins present in protein-supplemented assay media, so the LR3 form is preferred over native IGF-1 in cell-culture assay work; activity is measured at the IGF-1 receptor in receptor-expressing cell lines.
